Been wanting to improve the handling,
I was also looking at strut braces, any recommendations?

Bit steep!
I have seen that Wietec do a front only for £120.
Dunno if changing the back will help much.

if your car has 5 stud wheels then it will fit, otherwise no it wont :)
-
thanks, what would improve handling most, these arbs or coilovers?

Well now you're asking!
Coilovers will lower your car and therefore have stiffer damping/springing.
This combined with the lower centre of gravity of the car will improve handling.
Just the stiffer anti-roll bars will improve handling.
Which is better I cant tell you!

if you want to be really serious about it then id say coilovers , anti roll bars , full poly bushes , and strut braces are the only answer all of that combined will make your car handle incredible.
i should know thats wot im running on my car!

^^^ But then you end up with a harsh bone shattering ride!
If you want some comfort then just do the ARB's.
If you want the best handling possible then do all he said above!

As suggested above to anti-roll bars like there name suggest will control the body roll, will little or no loss in ride quallity.
Quality coilovers will lower, firmer and control the damping better.
Springs alone can be used to control body roll, this is not ideal. You will need much harder springs leading to poor ride quality. Harder springs will also case the standard dampers work too hard. As they are unable to control the deflection of the stronger springs.
Anti-roll bars front and rear work very well. The rear makes a huge difference.

i think i will go with arbs then strut braces and finally coil overs
would it make it feel like the R32? or better?
though it might be a dumb question as the R32 is 4x4

Ummmm no comparison to an r32!

I am sticking a strut brace on the front and Weitec Rear anti roll bar on my mk3 8V. Should be done end of week if the damn ARB arrives. Been chasin the flippin thing for over a month.
I think this should make the cornering sweet
Noticed going round a corner today at about 50 mph that the back wants to roll itself over so fingers crossed it should solve the prob.
For all my take on the ARB situation is Rear ones are the ones which will give best road hold. This is because the Golf is Front wheel drive car.
Anyhoo It looks  too.
I will also b able to show all the laydees my huge, hard green pipe. Too weird or not. Who cares I am weird thats why i drive a MK3
