When is South Africa getting it?????
Is it just me or are VW taking there time. I have not seen one review or one picture of this car in SA.
Does anyone know if it will be coming out here? Since the R32 only came out here last year November...

As far as I know it is for the Euro market and Australia of all places. I haven't seen any info on any other domestic markets getting it...even the good old U S of A isn't getting it as far as I am aware. Best thing to do is print off a piccie and shove it under your nearest dealers nose and ask him outright...or get your dad to do it for you

or go on their american GTi web forums and plaster the edition 30 pics on there to really p1ss em off!

HA HA HA
Hurdy... Ahem. When it comes to the cars I do all the research etc so he sure wont be doing it :smug:
Besides when it comes to stealers I seem to have the most influence and seem to always get them to comply (Dont you love it when a stealer gets the fright of his life thinking its an adult when its really a 16 year old bossing him around? :lipsrsealed: )
Oh well. If we not getting it then its tough luck for us. Maybe the RS4 is a better deal then
Thanks all
(I think I will be photoshopping a Edition 30 tonight....)

But of course, 5 seats, huge boot - no contest . . . .
In reality, though, I suppose it depends what your needs are, as the Golf and RS4 are two quite different cars. The RS4, like all the A4/S4 range are a true 5 seater, with great luggage carrying capacity, and are extremely comfortable for long distance travel. Now the Golf, OK it is also a 5 seater, but being a bit smaller than the A4 range, and having a noticeably smaller boot, would be a lot less practical to carry 5 around on a regular basis.
One thing is certain though - you wont be disapointed with either!

With regards to the use of the car...
Being the fathers car it will be used mostly for fun. The GTI is a great family car. It fits all five family members has enough boot space and enough power to have some fun. However the RS4 would by the real sports car.
Although without a doubt, only problem is my family is not the biggest fan of Audi.... :undecided:
Anyhow. I am doing my best to talk him into it
Cheers till later

Why? VW and Audi are effectively the same company, sharing the same R&D and resources. For example, the Mk5 Golf and the current Audi A3 are built on the same chassis floorpan, share identical running gear (engines, gearboxes, suspension, etc). They just have a different body style. Audi are better built, with better quality fit and finish, and generally have slightly better toys inside (Audi uses the RNS-E SatNav, whereas VW use a slightly different, lesser quality one - RNS-MFD, I think!).

Really? I thought they just shared certain parts. Didnt quite know that the A3 and GTI had so much in common
Anything else they share? RS4 and GTI I mean?
