Hi, Im pretty darn sure my clutch is about on its way out... but it seems to bite fine which i find a little odd.
The biting point is up very very high, infact its almost on the end of the peddle now.
If im rolling in first 5mph ish and hit my foot hard i get a little squeel.... sounds just like a little wheel spin but
1. im moving
2. its only a 1.4
So i think its the clutch sliping a little.
Now, would i be right in thinking that the automatic adjusting clutch cable should ALWAYS keep the biting point around the middle ? because i have just put a new cable on recently... but mabey its not adjusted proply? it would explain an awfull lot :laugh:

The squeal is the thrust bearing.
But that could be down to the cable needing adjusting. Do the adjustment first and see how it goes.

Ah i see! i dont understand what a thrust bearing does atall :embarassed: How do i go about adjusting it? the last time i did it the whole adjuster locked up and i needed a new one? i know thats not uncommon but i dont wanna have to fork out another £35 for a new cable :shocked:

The thrust bearing is inside the bellhousing and is moved by the clutch prong by the operating cable along the main shaft to act on the clutch plates.
You just need to sort that new cable.
