where would i be able to get headlights that have full beam as well. for converting the headlights to just two not four lights. many thanks
-
There is good news my friend. The main beam is built into the outer lamps. The smaller inner lamps are just spot lights only and come on as well as main beam.

mmm okies so if im having better bulbs as well it wouldent matter then. whats the point o0f the middle lights? style?
-
The inner spots provide extra illumination - I've had 2 and 4 light grilles and the difference is noticeable, it's not just a styling thing

mmm ok il see but if im using stronger light bulbs it should be the same

ive noticed on my quad lamp that the centre lights only come one when i have full beam on. yet the switch on the dash that does the rear high intensity has 2 settings. pushing half way does nothing, but pushing it fully in turns the rear lights on. a friend of mine has a mk1 and he can turn the inner lights on his golf independently (hope i spelt that right). has mine been re-wired? or is this just a different set-up on the light switching?

Different set up. The first stage on the fogs switch is for the fronts, if fitted (eg big bumper).

It will help. Some of the Phillips or even halfors uprated bulbs are good. Also you can fit an uprated headlamp loom which I noticed helps quite a bit as well.
Have a look for the looms on ebay or PM 'Dizzie' on here.
