Title: car cleaning section
Post by: Rhyso on 30 April 2007, 15:24
noticed a few posts recently about people asking about the best products to use with regards to washing, cleaning, maintaining etc and was thinking maybe a sub-section within cosmetic matters?

noticed a few forums have a similar section and was wondering if its maybe something to consider in the future  :undecided:

Then it should have a warning stating that this section is for the anally retentive!

Very true, but The Rado forum had the same problem and set up a "Sub-forum" for keep those people in their play-pen...

Mind you it's also very infomative for us "week-end" warriors... Esp as there's a couple of "professionals" ading to it...

Cars are for driving NOT cleaning!

Anybody who spends hours cleaning their car is just status concious and should get a life!

but surely modding your car to how you want it is along the same lines as cleaning  :undecided:

for example i don't want to modify the exterior of my car so i choose to spend my time and money making sure it looks as good as possible.

I'm currently fitting a body kit, different rear roof spoiler, new wheels and then a complete respray. So hopefully it will look good, well to me anyway!
But I still wont spend hours cleaning it!

I repeat cars are for driving not looking clean!

how will it look good if it's filthy???  :lipsrsealed:

and your re-spray will be pretty pointless if you then wash it with a sponge................................

Who says I use a sponge? I just take it to the local jet wash place.

Once or twice a year I go mad and give it a treat of Autoglym.

ok anyone who has driven with me will know how i drive my car... pretty damn hard! it also looks uber shiney because i spend time cleaning it. best of both worlds, a car which is driven for how it was built and looks like its just been detailed. also once its clean it only takes a quick once over for it to look awesome again.
if you had a car you were proud of len, you'd take more care over it!

if that makes me status concious then so be it! its nice to have people stop in the street and comment on how clean your car is, whats wrong with that?

Yard broom is a bit too rough, soft brush is acceptable.

I spent £170 on cleaning products recently. Im glad i did because when it had been shampoo'ed, ploished and waxed - it looked amazing. The looks it was getting was phenomenal. Even people with top of the range Beemers and Merc's where leaning over to have a look at it. Now thats flattering.
A clean car says alot about a bloke. Ask a girl

Then it should have a warning stating that this section is for the anally retentive!

why is it anally retentive if you want to keep your car in good clean condition and looking nice?

i like nothing more than spending hours cleaning and making my car look good.

guess I, and many others on here, are just anally retentive.
