Title: lowered car different ride height on one corner
Post by: richard s on 29 April 2007, 20:42
i have just lowered my mk2 8v gti i have used spax gas shocks and second hand -35mm springs the problem i have is that it sits lower on the drivers front than the rest of the car and when you look at the front mounting plates the drivers side sits higher than the passengers side everything is tight anybody know how to remedy this problem cheers

how long did you leave it to settle?  Can take a few weeks to sit right :)

the suspension needs time to settle but mk2's and mk1's top mounts go so whenever lowering they need replacing or else it'll sit wonky.

i did not use new top mounts as i am a fool and did it on sunday afternoon when everything is shut could have done it saturday when ecp was open but decided to sit in the sun instead
i have been thinking and it was a spax kit -60mm but i did not use the springs i used -35 springs now my thinking is if the shockers are set for -60mm springs will -35mm springs  just be compressed down to a -60mm equivalent by the shorter shocker cheers
