can't be hard can it? early mk2 (with 1/4 glass in doors). does the glass pull off, or do you have to release something through the small hole in the bottom (like bmw's etc). some booger bent the mirror down, bending door and loosening spring that stops mirror wobbling, I want to get some grips in and tighten it all up again.
cheers for any help

pre or post 90 mirrors?
pre 90 have a hole in the bottom which you stick summat sharp n pointy in to rotate the bracket to release the mirror.
Post 90 you adjust the mirror as far up as it will go and you can just make out some clips holding the glass in, carefully prise these off and you're done.

it's an early 84. Had a peek and a fiddle in the hole. Couldn't find anything to turn, but could see 4 little tags at 10 to 2, and 20 past 8. might try getting something in to flick them and see what happens... bit scared if glass in eyeball... now where did i put those sunglasses....

as rubjohnny said you have to insert a screwdriver into the hole you at the bottom of the mirror housing and turn the bezel that holds the glass in place, by using those little lugs you describe.

job done. They don't want them to fall off! There was no rotating bit, just 4 pegs and 8 clips- nice and easy to get back on tho'!
does anyone know if you can get blind spot glass to fit?
