Title: Broken Pipe - Radiator?
Post by: haf1zur on 29 April 2007, 14:49
Hi
After fitting the clutch yesterday, i noticed that one of the pipes leading to the first radiator (small one in front of the big radiator) was broken. I used a pipe and tied both ends together, but after removing the bumper this morning i see its broken in more than one place. Heres a pic below:

The pipe leads to this thing here, the cylinder, and has an open bit on the left of it, which can be seen in the pic.

anyone know that this other thing is, the cylindrical part. Looks like its sucking in air, wondering if that could be the a/c pump and the radiator for the a/c. would welding it back to gether fix the job or should i get a new radiator for that.

any help appreciated guys

The cylindrical part is the condensor for the air con unit. (not Cheap) I would replace the radiator as well.

cant believe vw want 358 pounds for it, that is expensive for a piece of metal
going to see if the scrappies have any

though the a/c works, and is still pretty cold, weird that.

pretty much everything else is in perfect working order
