Hi all has any one fitted a Ecotec valve do they actualy do what they say they do, are they any good!!!!
-
Is that the one that sprays water into the injection system?
-
The ecotek valves are basicly a load of rubbish. Just another false claim that it makes more BHP and saves petrol. If it saved petrol, all new cars would have them fitted as standard, but no... they dont because its rubbish. Some cars will be effected in diffrent ways, and its not all bullsh*t, because what it does in theory will help the air combust. but its an utter waist of money because 9 times out of 10 it does Feck all and even when it does its messing with the fuel system. Not only that they try to make you put these things on the main vacuum line to the brake servo?!? thats not ideal.
-
Does that mean I won't get an extra 20bhp with this on my corsa?????(like the 10bhp the air filter did)
bloody halfrauds fibbing again!!!
-
So have you tryed these for your self Rmachines... I understand that they can give 2bhp more which is jack but ive been told they can make your car a little more responsive.....
-
Thats people confusing the Ecotek with the FSE Boost Valve!
The boost valve makes a car more responsive by increasing the fuel pressure and not allowing fuel to return to the tank.
And yes that one does work, but no power increase!
-
I pulled one off a scraped car to put on my own (not to sure what it was at the time)
I noticed that if you stick your foot down after a period of overrun it does respond a little faster, other then that.... nothing. As for fuel it was impossible to tell but if anything at all it was minimal and i didnt notice it!
It leans out the fuel mixture aswell which can cause ECU problems. and of course "det" in worst cases.
Also it draws in unfilterd air into the manifold which can be sucked into the brake servo. this isnt so bad if you have the optional filter attached.
Makes a nice hissy noise at idle though
