-
No excuse! Slam it and get the fuchs (sp?) you're going on about matey ;)
You know mine is driven by my other half every day and I can still mod it - all but the wheels :)
-
one gorgeous looking cabby, looks like mine but white! lol
what a mint birthday present!
-
Phil, maybe some coilies and at least I can drop it when i drive it! Looking for Fuchs on teh bay at the moment... maybe some-one will do a nice photochop?
Steff, it's actually silver/blue but I think it's silver others see it as light Met Blue.. apparently you females have more colour receptors in your eyes of summit...
-
no they just see wat they want to see
-
oi!! cheeky!
it looks white on the pics......
might have something to do with my awkward eyes. lol
-

if you need any parts i canr ecommend a guy who breaks mk1's and he has his own site, absolutely ace guy, and cheap on postage too!
-
little is good...
i personally didn like drivin my cab as a daily, in the winter, due to the heater being a bugger..
Dinx
-
heaters? mines on full in summer  but its great for winter!
-
Cabby Heaters Rock.. Kept my toes lovely on the trip up the M11 to Cambridge last night (roof down).
Anyway am going to send off the Estorils to refurb soon and was wondering what is the best size tyres for a Mk1 to keep the gearing as close to factory (on 185/60/13s ATM)
-
think you'll be needing 195 50 15's with that in mind - think thats what the Riv is wearing on the Castellets (will spell that right one day lol)
As for heating - it's all very nice but really you need to be considering heated leather for those roof down evening trips ;)
-
Yeah and add more wieght, like electric windows and a hydraulic hood...
Will have to invest in Coilies next month though...
-
lol you've seen the ride height light!
Nothing wrong with a few 'special edition' features - especialy with the GTI engine up front ;)
-
Can blokes pull off the cab look tho ? ive been looking at them more n more recently , probably due to the nice weather but not sure how id managed :embarassed:
-
I dunno if u wud stu..
honest, gettin my cab warm in winter to defrost my windscreen was a nitemare..i drove to work with a 2x2 bit of the window that the heater had actuallly manged to defrost..

Yeah just avoid White ones...
I had a CC for a year a while ago and every summer have said, damn I wish I still had my Cabby.. so now I have (sort of). Just a work on the stance and wheels and get him looking tougher...
-
I like the cabbys don't get me wrong - a friend has one, in fantastic condition red with mint exterior and a gorgeous white interior, but I just don't think they look as nice as the TinTops - that for me is the original MK1 look.
As a side note I don't think it's a look guys can pull the "cabby look" off unless you're young otherwise you just look like a tit because you can see the bald patch, receding hair line and the stomach
They are nice in the weather though :)
-
floppy tops are for girls
-
Oi less of that , im very tempted by one
im only 24 so i dont have a bald patch or stomach
-
you must be a hairdresser

you must be a hairdresser
Yeah I must be but getting promoted....
CC Cabby (apprentice) to GTi Skyrocket (Stylist) to Corrado 16v (manager).. hopefully get the VR6 and finalise my ownership of a chain of salons..
Seriously If I took any notice of what people thought was "cool" I'd be driving a Mk2/3 GiT...
It's good to be different.... I know
here's a list of the cars so far....

 I know.. just don't see why blokes are considered Hairdressers when buying a cab...
Also as you can see I don't exactly follow "the Norm" as far as vws are concerned...

You still on for the Head and Shoulders conference on saturday darling?

Of course sweetie <mwah>

That's pretty much why I sold mine.
By the way, 195/50/15s were not the original tyre size on the le castelletes, they came from the factory with 185/55/15s, same size as the mk2s came out of the factory with, so if you're working out rolling radius and all that then start with that tyre size.
-
Cheers Gibby... Will keep that in mind, esp as two tyres will need doing anyway...
Hmm 185's on Estos? Slight Stretch.....
