any one no how to convert a manual hood to electric hood?? how easy is it and what do i need to do the job?? cheers

why do you want to do that? manual hoods weigh less, and are quicker to put up!!

Hmmmmm, not really Han as you're covered by the rain quicker in a leccy one as you're already in the car, than you would be in a manual one as you're actually stood outside in the rain. :tongue:

i was considering an electric hood but i enjoy putting the roof down and just pressing a button is for posh people lol

well after finaly gettin the cabrio thurs night that included 9 hour journey i can now see how quick and easy manual is, so it will be staying as it was made!!

yeah, i wanted an electric, that was purely cos i didnt thnk i'd be capable of doing it! LOL. but if i can do it anyone can!

its not as easy as you would think, you need the switch, loom & motor for a start.  But you also need mount brackets welding into the car, and the hood frame itself is also different!

depends on who's doing it  :wink: - its over rated having electric hood anyhow, thus why I prefer manual as well, even though I have electric hood in my cab.
