Title: hose sizes
Post by: rowlers on 24 April 2007, 17:42
anyone know what size the breather inlet is on the side of the airbox (that the crank case breather connects to) of the KR?

Just trying to sort out the lengths of hose I need to plumb my catch tank in.

The catch tank has 8mm inlets, so need to reduce/increase from these to the right size of the breather pipes.

Would go outside and measure, but 1 its p|ssing down and 2 can't leave my 21mth old daughter in house on her own while I go out!!!

cheers

my theory is to heat a bit of 9mm id hose up (hair dryer etc...) and slide this over the 3/8'' in/outlets of the tank this will increase the OD of the in/outlets to closer to the 19mm of the breather pipe.

Also I have no idea where or how I am going to mount it?!?

I tell you what though I aint blowing half as much smoke when larging it with the oil breather plugged into my temp lucozade bottle "catch tank" instead of the airbox!!!

Looks alright that matey bit more swish than a lucozade bottle  I'd get some jubilee clips on there though to stop it peeing all over the engine bay if it pops off. I'd mount it up on the front panel next to the radiator just try not to block the airflow too much :)
and I'd have inlet at the bottom outlet at the top :)
