could anyone tell me if the plastic trim along the door is clipped in or glued on???

u mean the door bump guard type thing??
on mine its clipped on

yeah i think they are clipped if they are late mk2's my early mk2 had glued on rubbery ones tho, pull one off and see the clips are gonna break anyway.....

Do you mean the strip of plastic with the GTI on it?

If so it's held on with about 4 or 5 Gromits!
