I have just got my self a re-manufactured clutch off ebay.... but how exactly do you re-manufacture a clutch??? is there such a thing? This chap sells them for lots of diffrent cars, i managed to win it for 99p with the full kit so i'm not complaining.
-
They keep the metalwork and renew the bearing pads. Although the thrust bearing should be new?
Personally I wouldnt even dream of putting it in a car of mine!
Good luck with it mate!
-
Well when your clutch is about to go and you don't have a penny to spare a clutch for 99p is a life saver. I know its not ideal but it will do me for now... hopefully
-
I would ask what they did with the thrust bearing.
You gonna fit it yerself?
-
I doubt i will fit it my self i havent got the time. It all looks new

I dont see a thrust bearing in that photo.
-
Actually thats probably a good thing, i would replace that with a new one, not to pricy.
-
I have a remanufactured clutch plate on mine been on for about 600 miles no worries so far and it's better than the old one :)
-
we use re-man clutchs at work and they are no probs!!
think you got a bargin if u ask me!!
sayin that dont think i would use one unless i was skint!!
-
Well don't forget my car is only a 1.4 and i really cant afford to spend that sort of money on something that will probably blow up in a few months anyway, 99p for a clutch is fantastic i dont drive it hard... to much
-
99p - bargain mate
fit it yourself to avoid labour charges & even if it only lasts a year you're still laughing...
DD
-
yeah mate i agree what a bargin and fit yourself save some money, i dont even buy or fit mine as work pay for them so im quids in!!
-
I wish my work would pay for mine
I don't think i'm up to fitting a clutch, I wouldn't mind doing it at all its just not having the right tools, its really gets to me when i haven't got the tools i need and i end up breaking it.
Does any one know what sort time time it takes to have it fitted in a garage? and what sort of price?
-
Just dont go to Mr Clutch!
-
I have a question.... I got the clutch today (all looks good) But that do the four springs on the friction plate do? doesn't seem to move anything
