just wondering what rear bumpstops you guys use on your mk2's?
i was always told (by my weitec dealer) that when lowering, you should cut the stops by the lowered ammount so that the car rests exactly on them. using the stops as aditional damping
im using oe stops.
the back is nice and firm, but im soon upgrading to gas adjustable dampers, so will i cut them short like the fronts, just to stop them bottoming out, and just dial in the damping accordingly?

I would have though that if you are fitting a lowering kit, then the bump stops would be included as they are specially designed for the job. As for cutting o/e down, well I would get a second opinion. (Which you are doing with this post of course.)

front struts have new stops, rears dont! so looking for a third opinion

I thought tyou should cut down std bump stops by the amount your lowering???
I did and have had no problems, just make sure you're not resting on the bumps stops
