Title: Engine tweeking

does any one know any ways of tweeking engines jus with couple of tools? im borad and got no dosh at the moe and ma babi wnts to be faster  :cool: its compleatly standard in every way lol it tops out at about 120 but i thought the max wasabout 135?

its had a recent oil change and flush, hope there is somthing that i can do  :grin:

not alot you can do cheaply to tweak a mk3 engine apart from the airfilter LOL  :laugh:

Golf GTI 8V should top out at 124mph from VW specs..

And a 16v tops out at 137mph! Or so I'm told. :rolleyes:

Thats not very impressive, i can get 110 out of my 1.4 at a push?!?!  Mind you torque does it for me, not speed :D    got 140 out my GT-Four though :D

got 156 out of my R, and some have got 168 coming back from france
highest is 204 with better gearing

Giffy a simple thing to do that dont cost jack would be to drill your air box you dont get any more power but you will get a nice induction roar that makes you think your going faster.... :grin:

Im sure theres a thread somewhere showing RR print outs that confirmed that a panel filter and drilled air box was more beneficial than a cone filter. Ill see if i can dig it out

A drilled air box and panel filter is more beneficial than a standard induction kit but the viper is a sealed unit with a external cold air feed so should be more benefical due to not taking in as much hot air. :smiley:
