Title: Digifant relay layout help
Post by: caddyrage on 21 April 2007, 13:25
can someone please post a pic of the relay layout on the fuse panel of an 87-89 mk2 gti 8v with the PB digifant engine. Redoing the wiring on my caddy after the last loom melted  and dont know if i'am missing a relay.
Also can someone tell me where these wires go?

These are at the fuse box side of the loom
Just wanna get the loom sorted once and for all this time

Cheers, lee

check my fusebox FAQ in the garage section for relay layouts, as for those wires you've got an earth there (brown/white) at least but I'm not sure about the other 3, can you see where they have come from?

The bro/red wire goes to a 2 pin white plug which connects to the ecu loom. A bla/yel wire on the same white plug goes to position R on the fuse box which is a 2 pin green plug.

The red/whi wire goes to a black 2 pin plug which also connects to the ecu loom, a red/yel is the other wire on that plug.

The black 2 pin plug in the pic, the whi/red goes to what looks like the air temp sensor and the gre/bla wire goes to a position on above the oil filter, must be a sender of some sort.

hope you can help matey

right!
1. I think this runs to pin D/2, according to my fusebox FAQ?
2. Still not sure about that one, any idea where on the ecu plug it goes?
3. Looks like the oil temp sender & outside air temp wires, I think they should plug into another plug from the dash clock loom :)

Just traced wires back using a spare loom.
the brown/red wire goes to position 1mon the ecu plug
the red/white goes nowhere, just buried in insulation for no reason.
the black plug was'nt fitted when i ran the 2L in my caddy(thought i'd sort it properly this time).
so then, its just the brown/red to sort hopefully

here we go, from my FAQ:
C
18- red/blk- thermo switch for cold start valve (K-Jet f/inj) or digifant ECU pin 1

Red/white is probably for the lambda probe if one is fitted, theres a random cut red/white wire in my Digifant loom as well :)

As for the black/green wire, I believe on your car it should run to pin 3 of the 6 pin plug, and the red/white wire should run to pin 2 of the 6 pin plug of the dash clocks :)

Right, so you think it be good to go then if i placed the bro/red wire in position C 18?.

edit...
just looked at the C plug on my original caddy loom and the PB loom i have and there's no wire in that position so will it be fine as obviously it was'nt that position on the mk2 gti the loom came from
