Title: Glugging noise
Post by: dalgleish00 on 19 April 2007, 08:12
Hi All - hope you can help. When I park up my car, if I sit in it I can here a slight glugging noise for quite a while which sounds like its coming from the back somewhere. ANy ideas what it is and if its a problem? It sounds like the fuel sloshing in the tank but that would not go on for so long. Car has just been serviced so I am presuming it is nothing problematic - hopefully not as heading for two weeks driving round Europe on Monday!! Cheers for any help.

The coolant pump contineus after the car stops if it is hot. Could be that? Are you sure it's from the rear? Try listening outside of the car??

Don't worry - they all do this, including mine. Yes, it does come from the back, and I believe it's related to the pressure equalising in the fuel tank, although I stand to be corrected.
