I've seen somewhere before that you can do a free basic check on your car just by inputting the reg, gives your the cc, number of doors, colour etc
Just wondering as I've just insured my new Mk4 and the insurers said the reg gave them it was a 3 door, the car is hpi clear I'm just a little confused as its a 5 door. Everything else about it is legit.
Any advice on this?
Cheers, Dan

There used to be one on the RAC website but it doesn't look to be as good as it was. http://www.rac.co.uk/web/vehiclechecks/

Cheers dude, Just noticed I forgot to ask for the site, just mentioned it existed.
I've been racking my mind all night as I'm sure I found one a while back which gave no. of doors.
Is it really anything to worry about, or just a pencil pusher performed a typo?

It could be just a typo but for your own peace of mind you might want to ring the dvla up to confirm. In fact, why not ring up VW and with the reg they should be able to tell you.

I'll get on it in the morn, Thanks again
