I'd agree with that one. Mine made 176bhp with a standard head, ABF cams, no WUR mod and a shoddy exhaust...

daz did you have any clearance issues with the exhaust manifold? have read some people tilt the engine back a bit because its taller

Currently sorting my 8v ready for an ABF, will let you know in the next few weeks whether we have issues with the 4 branch manifold and clearance, I am expecting problems but I have the Phirm literally 1-2 miles away from where my car is currently stored/being worked on.

We've sorted the ABF loom, changed all my 88 wiring to 90 spec and I'm about to tidy up the bay to get rid of the odd bit of rust here and there, mainly on the firewall where pre 90 GTIs didn't have the 2nd heatshield.
Will provide pics if we can of manifold clearance etc.

Mine went straight in with the standard exhaust off my old engine. I've heard of people having problems when they use 4-branch manifolds though.

any reason you didnt get the wur mod done? is that on the abf management or k-jet? thats a nice power figure for what youve done
