Last seen in a layby off junction 33, M1 near a big Morrisons and Big W's.(sheffield/Rotherham) my white golf gti has been jacked by sum pikey scum!!! :angry: :angry: :angry: it's a big bumper 3 Door mk2 Golf with sum crappy TSW 5 spokes on it. registration number is H526 YNX.
The car broke dwn after i bought it, while on the way back to derby. So i had to leave it in the layby 4 a few days ( On the advice of the Highway Patrol Agency! :rolleyes: ) while i sorted out a trailer/transort to get it home, but when i went to fetch my GTI it was gone!! :shocked:
I have spent the last 2 days trying to track the car but the police, council, DVLA and Highways department/agency all say they have no records of removing it!! :huh:
The car has had a stolen marker put on it by the police but if anybody has seen this car or knows of its whereabouts please get in touch as soon as possible.

Is there any smashed glass where you left it? Just thinking if they smashed the window it's probably been dumped after they had a play, whereas if the lock was busted maybe it will still be around?
Have you done a check of the area? Country lanes, fields, layby's, industrial estates etc?

my brother actually lives around the area and he told me it had gone so havn't actually bin there maself. the car wudnt drive for sumreason so doubt anybody would have driven it away. thats why ppl are sayin pikey prob taken it with a tow truck and scrapped it!! :sick: :cry: if i ever find out who it is im gna leave em FUBAR!!

The same thing happened to my old Ford Orion! Lucikly I wasn't too bothered as it'd been given to me free as a non-starter, I'd fixed it for a tenner and was planning to scrap it about 2 weeks later before moving to Canada for 6 months - so they theifing bastards actually saved me £25!!
I still couldn't work out why (or how!) anyone would steal it though, It had broken down, and then I'd flattened the battery trying to start it, so there's no way it was to joy ride, and it was worth about -£25!! I can only assume they needed the gearbox or something?
Good luck finding your car mate, I hope that f**kers that took it get leprosy.

You tried ringing the local scrap yards?
Ask them if they have a white bonnet or something. If they do then go and have a look. you might find the whole car

have you wondered if it was the person you bought it off? any way they could have sold you the car, knew it would break down and then nicked it back?

Thanks for the replies guys, really hope with the help of the dub community that i can find this car as i didnt have insurance for the car as i'd just bought it.
I am ringin around scrappys but no luck just yet. Thanks Monzablue will post on south yorkshire dubs and hopefully somebody may have seen the car being towed or something.
I dont think it could have been the previous owner as he is a copper (wouldn't put it past them though :laugh: ), but I actually bought it off his dad who woz about 60/70 years old and drove a metro.

I assume the only people that would take it away and crush it would be the DVLA, but i have spoken to them and they have no records of picking up my car. Have been trying to see if there would be any cctv footage but no one will tell me wether they have cameras there. i am going to go there today and check the "scene" for clues :laugh: and go to a few local scrappys and specifically ask for a white panel :wink:. If it turns out they've got my car, that panel will be more tornado red than alpine white :angry:!

Nah mate aint heard nuthin off the old bill. I have given up now to be honest just have to get another one. it only cost me £300 so its not a huge loss. thanks for askin neway mate.

just remember in future, sort out insurance and tax first! publicv foums are not the place to admit such a crime!! haha!
i arranged my insurance for cab and when i decided i was buying it i got them to swap/add to piolicy for a fee which i paid over the phone then i was covered to drive the car home.

unfortuanatly if some pikey scum have took it out the layby the all they will want to do with it is weigh it in at the local metal recycling yard for £80.00 per tonne ( happened to me about 12yrs ago with my old escort xr3)
Note to self :angry: :angry: join the AA or RAC stop bieng tight :laugh: & it would have been recovered asap :evil: :nerd:

alot of this happens in stoke, people see a broke down car on side of carridgeway and if its still there 24 hours later they take it and weigh it in!, unlucky mate i hope thats not the case with yours! id personally go round all the breakers yards and scrap yards and ask them!

imagine leavin ur car tho in a layby, sum pikey nicks it, to find out you've had some kind of remote drive installed and locking mechanism so they can't get out and drives them to random places lol :grin:
