Title: Cleaning interior
Post by: patch900 on 14 April 2007, 11:41
The interior of my MK3 (mainly the seats) need a good clean.

I have tried upholstery cleaner and other stuff and they just dont come up good at all or you get water stains etc.

Anyone got any good suggestions / products they use for cleaning ?

Cheers in advance

mine need doing too. a steam cleaner has been suggested as doesn't involve scrubbing so kinder to older fabrics.

Carpet cleaner with a small attachment on it then leave it in the sun for a few hours to dry out :)

what i have done in my corrado is strip the seats completely and put all the fabric through the wash on the normal daily wash cycle. then just leave it somewhere indoors to dry slowly

comes up like new.

not too hard to strip either. cut off the metal things that hold them together, and rebuild with cable ties.

simple.

done that a couple of times now in the 5 years i have owned the car

if you have black carpets, take em out and jetwash them. that gets 'em real clean.

would work on other colours too, just never tried yet

Carpet cleaner was OK, cleaned up the seats and carpets pretty well. Not great mind.
