yeah i saw ya age in ya profile.

if they're giving you that kind of result.. try for an 8v.. see what they say for that? i'd guess they still might say no.. or have a high price..

I'm sure someone will insure you on a 16V if the price is right. One of my m8's wanted to drive an mr2 turbo when he was 18. Rang round loads of insurance companies and no one would go near him. He eventually found a place which would take him on but they wanted 6 grand :o. He ended up in his moms Astra ;D.But it does show if you have the money you can get the insurance. Keep trying

Thats a bit steep mate my 1.6 driver is only 450 a year in my dads name with unlimited mods (except power increasing mods). Would be that price if i was 17 aswell

Be a bit wary if you do get a cheap one as they will probably put the excess sky high so that it looks more appealing to you.

Insurance is getting silly these days and with that new ?60 uninsured driver fee that they are gonna introduce its a licence to print money.

Its my dads first policy because his other car is a company car. thats with full no claims, no claims protection, 50 excess for him, 100 excess for me.

rob heath from elite 1000 got insured on an 8v golf gti when he was 18......i dont know who he went with.....
try an 8v i was paying a ?1000 on mine and i was 21 2 years ncb......... nov 2002 lost all ncb october 2003
ive had to pay ?1200 22 no ncb...... until now no prangs and i'm not going to have any!!!!!!

so i'm looking forward to having 1 ncb plus being 23 it should come down but i want a tdi group 8 so that should see a far drop..... sick of paying high petrol prices. plus theres nowhere to drive fast....

my bro put me on his vr6 i think it was ?75 extra not much.... plus his ncb are protected.......i'm less likely to crash the vr as its got abs so in the wet braking safely is a doddle! theses days people seem to jam the brakes on i think most people hope for you to slide into them so they can get the ''bad neck'' money!

abs solves this lock and slide problem.......

my next car must have abs......... :) :-* definet must have forget air con........ rather have abs!!!!!!!!
