Title: Help Advice need!!! Really URGENT!

Hi all, well i am propper hacked off with the golf! took her out and all was fine but on the way back the car started to cut out when putting your foot down as if the car was running out of fuel! the fuel pump is really loud and sounds like it is sucking on air but i have a full tank of fuel!! any ideas? i need my car for sunday! waaaaaaaa  :cry:

i am thinking it is the fuel pump? but can a fuel pump kind of work? i only thought it would or wouldnt work?  :undecided:

Do the mk1s have a lift pump also? - If they do id check that as they sometimes go and make the man fuel pump that is under the car strain harder - Check uyour fuel filter also.
