i have just bought a mk3 golf gti with 120,000 miles on it. when should the cam belt be changed? thanks.. what mods could i do to bring out a bit more from the car?

Cam belt should be changed every 60,000 miles, although some peope at VW tried to tell me last year that it's actually every 40,000 miles.

It'd be the frist thing I changed if I were you; if it goes, bye bye car  :sad:

try asking a garage, they all vary.

Don't cost much, my main dealer did mine for £130 all in IIRC. Which was about £50 cheaper than the independent specialists in the area.
