Hi everyone,
I bought my Golf 4 years ago for £3,500 and I've now paid off the loan so I'm looking at perhaps taking out a new one to get something a bit newer. How much is a sensible amount to stick it up for?
Here's the honest details :
VW Golf Mk3 Gti, 8v, 2.0, P reg (1997)
Dragon green colour, metallic
12 months MOT
108,000 miles
Standard alloys, all 4 tyres with good tread
Had VW FSH up to when I bought it, I've kept all receipts and stuff since then.
Things recently done to it :
Back suspension springs and cat. converter replaced to pass MOT
ABS sensor replaced today
Gearbox reconditioned 12 months ago because it lost reverse gear
Air flow meter changed 12 months ago
Cam belt changed 6 months ago
New coil, diz cap, plugs, leads 6 months ago
Problems with it :
A few minor scratches on the driver's side, rest of paintwork fine.
The light around the heating controls is a bit dodgy, comes on and off at will
The alarm sometimes goes off for no reason, no idea why.
So...any rough ideas?

I just sold my dragon green 8v 95 N with 68000 miles for £1800 with a FSH , full mot and 6 months tax and it was pretty much in mint nick.
I reackon you should get 1400 -1600.
