Title: mk5 boys - lend me a hand (aerial)
Post by: mase on 11 April 2007, 08:58
morning you lot...

dont venture in here much, only due to being young and not bein able to afford a mk5, but im after some assistance.

i saw in PVW a couple of months back a yellow mk3 with a stubby aerial on it, it said it was from a mk5 golf, but after some searching ive found some that have the standard looking long golf aerial, and some that dont have a roof aerial at all.

im after this short stubby one to try and fit to my mk3 as the pikeys keep nicking my beesting.

im wondering if any of you know wat im talking about with the stubby aerial (if u look at the mk5 on dubmodder its wearing one) wat models have them? and how easy are they to get hold of? should i just give the local dub stealers a bell?

cheers in advance

Sounds to me like it may be the sat nav aerial?

Have got the phone prep tho!

Good timing this thread, my standard long whippy aerial keeps getting caught up in my up and over garage door, so I'm really in need of a shorter type.

It's my understanding the SATNAV type is a pain to fit, due to having to pull the roof lining down, so I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a decent shorter B sting type, for the MK5

I'm going to get one of these when i get round to it:

http://www.visualgarage.com/home.html

They make them to fit the specific car, colour code it and it functions as an aerial.

as far as i know, any universal fittment beesting aerial should fit, ive bought 2 different once for my mk3, and both have come with different fittings to allow fittment to virtually any aerial base.

however, both the ones i have bought have been nicked, and the 2nd one was even glued in

No probs mate

u can get them off ebay for a few quid each.

bought both of mine at the local 'C.A.R' place in town... virtually anywhere that sells car bits would stock them.

locking aerials still go walking...

what about a audi tt style one? or is that the same as what's on the golf already?

if your talkin about the new tt coupe, then by the looks of it, the aerial is the same as the one im after... well, same design, so could be another option.
