Title: Where to buy 18" Monza for mark 5?
Post by: glynnd on 10 April 2007, 19:38
I'm looking to buy a new mk 5 gti but the car I've seen is spec'd with 17" wheels - love the 18s tho. Anyone any idea where you can get hold of a set of 18s and for what price?

New to the Golf but looking forward to ownership.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Good choice of motor.  If you read some other posts on wheels, you'll find people find the ride is slightly harder on 18" wheels.  unless you are a proper poser, I'd save you money and buy an engine chip or decent exhaust for the same money, as big wheels dont do alot apart from look pretty.

oh and if you're like me and no matter how hard you try not to kerb your wheels and then end up damaging one of them, you'll be pleased you stuck with 17" monza's, as the 18" version is harder to get repaired properly, due to the two tone paint job.
