Title: audi 5 cyl engine swap?

Hi all,
ive spent alot of time searching on many forums and the net, trying to find info on swapping an audi 2.2 5 cyl engine into my 88 8v GTI.....
no luck, has anyone done it/know where i can find out more....
i know its not the most obvious engine upgrade for tuning etc but im sure it mustve been done plenty of times before!

It's not done often because they're not a transverse engine, although it is possible. Check out this month's Golf+ magazine for a detailed write up on the dubweiser 800bhp mk1.
