I use to use turtlewax until I was up at Demon Tweeks and bought a bottle of Mequiars Liquid wax. It comes with it's own little applicator and goes on nicely. Brings it out really nice and shiney like they claim. Also smells nice too ;D
-
2 lots and to applications!!, after a wash i bang black turtle colourmagic on!! (fills those teeny scratches ,black cars a bummer to clean!!) then once dried and buffed off i then go over again with simmonze 'maxwax' gives it a fook off shine and is really easy to wax on wax off!! (not that i do it that way got one of those buffers things) this is what ive done for years just varying the colour magic pending car colour!!! ;D
-
I've tried all manner of different manufacturers (for all car cleaning products, not just polish) but every time I keep coming back to Autoglym stuff.
Its not the easiest stuff to work with the car needs to 110% dry, and you can't skimp on effort - but I've never achieved the same results with another manufacturers stuff - its terrific.
Smell is first class too! Which is important if you're sniffing it all day!
-
i will also recommend Turtle Wax Colour Magic........My golf is tornado red and it brings out a brilliant finish that people always comment about.
Turtle Wax Tyre Gel is good stuff aswell - i apply it with a paint brush which brings out a deep shiny black look
Car Wash - I use a cheap brand of Car Plan Triple Wax which is ?2 from Wilkinson - cheap as chips seeing as you get about a litre of the stuff and I usually overdose the car in it.....reackons its got triplewax whatever that means
-
I use Autoglym Super Resin polish. 8)
-
I use Zymol cleaner wax (the liquid one) and if I'm feeling energetic I get the tub of hard Zymol out the fridge :D
-
zymol liquid too, it smell sooo good, but aint easy work ;)
-
Is that zymol gud stuff then? Is ?11.99 4 a bottle-dont want 2 waste money if its sh!te! ;D
Dinky :-*
-
The liquid stuff is great Dinky, goes on nice and buffs off with no powder. The hard stuff is a bit more difficult though....worth it.....but hard work!
-
Oooo, Ash, you got a fine lookin motor there :D
-
Cheesr speedy! ;)

Anyone tried SWISSOL out of interest?
You seems to be mainly A/G or Colour Magic users.

has anyone been to one of those do it yourself car washing things like the 'jet' ones?
Does the brush put swirl marks on the paintwork do you know?
-
no and yes.
mequiars do a product to remove the swirls so they say.

Anyone used one of those electric polishers? What they like?
Dinky :-*
-

just gathering info for when I get mine sprayed :-*
-
I have a mate who's a sparyer by trade, and he has one of these electric buffer thingies (its called a 'mop' in the trade apparently) and they are awesome.
He's done a car for me before, he used some mild cutting compound and then some polish and the thing looked brand new!
-
Im really thinkin about gettin one like, but its just cos im a lazy tw@t really! :P Half a car but still takes us ages to polish it! :P Cheers S11EPS! ;)

you can't beat a bit of elbow grease though!
-
I seem to be having a bit of trouble getting out those LITTLE scratches as we call them, iv used colour magic chip stuff an polished it etc, but they still not budgin! Autoglm stuff is really good, Can quite easily spend 5 hours cleaning the girl it's a lot bigger than thought when i bought it! ;D
-
What colour you got? Darker colours seem to show scratches worst. I've got Ink blue.
-
tell me about it, its a pain in the ar5e! mines a black one!"!!

-
In my opinion you cant beat Zymmol, but Maguires (sp)seems quite good :)
