Hmmm . . . .
. . . . whilst an interesting story, I certainly wouldn't rely on 4Car for any "facts"
Just look at this link: http://www.channel4.com/4car/ft/buying+guide/faq/1203/4#dsg - it states, I quote "Direct Shift Gearbox, in Volkswagen-Audi language. A sporty semi-automatic gearbox with automatic double-clutch system and sequential-shift gearchanges as well as a fully auto mode using a torque converter".
FFS, the DSG does NOT have a torque converter - it actually has 2 wet multi-plate clutch packs (similar to motorbike clutches), and certainly has no function of converting torque!!!!
