Title: No rear number plates lights

Went for MOT yesterday, it failed so your chance to help save another GTi.

The rear nuber plates lights don't wok, it's not the bulbs or fuse. Could it be something else?
Where does the wiring run?

check the wiring as it passes out of the top of the boot and into the roof area, sometimes it rubs against the metal and can short. The wiring should be within a flexible rubber sleeve so just work it out from the roof side.

As above the wiring normally brakes as it passes through the rubber boot.
