right, got two vw key fobs for alarm on me 97 vr6, but i only got one key, now im gonna get another key cut the same so i have 2 sets..., do the standard keys on a 97 vr6 have any kind of 'chip' in them for the immobiliser circuit?? dont wanna go and get a key cut and it be useless,,,,, id rather goto vw and get a proper one to match if they are chipped.....

My 1995 has a chipped key and I was quoted from £20 to £40 for a programmed key.....

My 98 is chipped ! Spare from Timpsons £25.
