Yo, when i am pulling away and turning into road, so say 90 degrees, there is a constant knocking noise until i straighten up the wheel. It doesn't do it all the time. I was at tescos the other day, and some woman in a mk2 was turning and i heard the same thing. i don't have power steering. 93 L reg 1.4CL. Any idea what this is? doesn't sound too healthy

I experienced the same thing with my old renault clio, it was a broken cv joint on the driveshaft.

Yep definately cv joint. have a look at the rubber boots on the cv joints, its most likely that one will be split and let all the grease out, thats what will cause it to fail. Not too bad to change either, and a new joint is about £45 from GSF.
