hiyo people,
i've just purchased a 1991 GTI golf and its a incredibly beautiful car, im in love..
however, like most things you fall in love with...ie ladys... it has one major annoying glitch. the oil light.
im driving along and everynow and again the oil light pops on and the buzzer goes off. if i then dip the clutch and give it a quick rev order is restored and all is normal... any ideas what the problem might be?
its not a major problemo, just annoying.
thanks,

I would start by checking your oil level, i've had this happen when i let mine get a bit low :embarassed:

yeah i've checked the oil and its fine, the guy who owned it before me told me about it and said it had been doin it for a while... but was just wondering if its a common fault...

Never known a lady to have an oil light
Sounds like low oil pressure, check the level and if thats ok start checking things like your oil pump etc..

sump off, clean pick up, sump back on. Or check the sensors in the top of the oil cooler.
There is loads about it, just use the search function.

obviously check for oil leaks, esp round the oil filter and sensors.
