My brother has a 1.8 5dr MK3 Golf and was wondering how he could improve the performance of the engine so I thought id ask the best people who would know.
Its a completly un-moddified 1.8 8v Carb system.
Hes been told the usual induction kit and exhaust system but what will benefit this engine the most.
Cheers

The car will have about 90bhp as standard....You can fit an induction kit but a panel filter and drilled airbox would be the best bet and will see bout 2bhp max. you can fit a gti large bore exhaust as they share the same diameter cat back and this agin will give 3-4 bhp for the system or 2bhp for the back box. You won't see big gain's as the car has single point injection which is very basic. What you should notice is the engine will be more revvy and will pull better in the gear's
