Title: steam water from header vr6

changed the split pipe today seems to be holding pressure okay ran it cold with the expansion tank lid off didnt suck the water away just seemed to blow out a few droplets of water from the header when revved does this mean the headgaskek is knackered or is it okay seems to be water leaking around the bottom of the vdo any help would be apeciated............cheers trev :wink:

could be a tiny leak, done all the other usual checks? mayonaisse in oil filler cap or white smoke and water running out of the exhaust?! is it drinking any water?

small amount of water from exhaust not losing any from the tank though   no mayo on the filler cap

wouldnt say it would be too big a problem but they can go any time, even when first done, bit of a gamble really. if the tank isnt going down it cant be losing any, it must just be condesation. whats the vdo? if there is water leaking near it how come the tank level is the same? or is the leak very small? the drops out the tank probably would be small airlocks clearing, did you bleed it when you changed the hose? not too sure how to do this on golfs as im more used to renaults. leaving the water filler cap off and have it ticking over give it a few revs may clear them through.
