Title: Fault finder
Post by: phil_a on 01 April 2007, 11:52
I recently bought a Gunsons Fault Finder for my 1995 GTi 16V. I have not been able to find where to plug it into the doagnostic socket. It has three pins: one on a brown wire, one on a blue wire and one on a green and yellow wire. Does anyone know where these plug in?

It sound's like you have an early obd1 fault finder.....your's will be obd2 which if you remove the ashtray first and just above the cig lighter slide the blanking plate to the left you will find the connector.
The obd1 has a 3 pin plug. and they are not interchangable!!!   Sound's like a new fault code reader is needed to me

Thanks for that - i will have a look for a new one. Its a bit annoying as my car is listed as being compatible with it on the box! Do you know where the best place to look is?
