My brother's just borrowed my car coz someone has either nicked or his mirror glass has actually fallen out...
Can anyone advise if it's possible to change the mirror glass out of the passenger side mirrror...it's electric, and i assume heated?
This is very unusual coz we don't get car crime around here...but someone smashed a taxi's car window a few nights ago and now this...

If it's just the glass that's gone, ie you have a backing panel, you can just buy a replacement mirror glass from halfords as a quick solution, they just stick on to the old bit, but if the backing has gone, you'll have nothing to stick to, so you'd have to get replacement from a dealer or get one from a scrapyard.
Someone actually snapped the wing mirror off my dads car twice in a month, each time we got another from a scrappy.

you're best bet is to get the replacement from the scrappy as brand new they cost about £40 due to the heated element that runs through it. its very easy to change though, four clips around and two wires touch on the glass :-)

well it was actually the drivers mirror not the n/s...
anyway he's got the replacement now, it's a complete unit...
am i better off trying to unclip this glass or shall i replace the whole unit? Obviously the plastic covers are colour coded so will i be able to unclip the old cover and replace on the new unit...
I called the police, they came over in 40 mins and are even going to take finger prints...i'm quite impressed
thanks fellas

Oh well got it done... i couldn't remove the glass and was worried i'd break it so i swapped the back covers over
The little scrotes took the aerial too...I mean WTF..nobs!
