Got round to reading the manual for this function - available on the non highline computer - Thought great - it will beep if i exceed a pre-inputed speed so i can keep my eyes on the road - why not? - Everything else beeps - oh you got low petrol, oh you got low washer level, oh you got.....
But it doesn't beep - it just states - speed exceeded. What use is that!!!! You might as well keep you eye on the speedo!
I'm hoping that maybe mine has something wrong - any bleepers out there?
-
mine dosent beep, but it bongs.
-
Mine makes a noise, can't remember if bing or bong
-
Mine pull's a wet kipper from under the dash and slaps me with it.
Seriously it bongs, but not very loudly.
-
I get a distinct bong. Same bong as for low fuel.
-
MMM - Maybe i should try it again without the stereo on!

Yep - one little small quite beep - no continuous beep - on no - Its got too many other beeps to worry about rather than do something sensible and scare the sh!t out ya!
-
why dont they scrap the speed waring and have for those peeps with DSG , A LARGE 1,2,3,4,5,6 NUMBERS for telling you what gear your in and not the piddly little one in the bottom right corner on the highline display!
-
Mine's a bong for sure and then without any warning, instead of a kipper slapping me, mine is a piece of curred ham lightly dressed with a honey and mustard dressing!
-
Thought it might have been a frankfurter looking where you are Micalee
-
Ah, you see, it has been a Frankfurter in the past, but it was a bloody huge one (standard with Golf's out here) and it kept snapping in half. Whilst hoovering out the car, i found a few of the snapped bits under my seat and in the seat rails! It was really hard to clean up and i had to take out my really expensive recaro's to do a good job.
With this in mind, I had the Frankfurters taken out at the dealers and had the Curred Ham installed in its place. For anyone carrying out the same mod, ensure the Ham is installed width ways, as my stupid car dealer put it in length ways and it shot out so fast, it missed me and ended up wrapped around my equally expensive rear leather seat head restraints!
There is a thread somewhere on correct instalation of Curred Ham, Ill dig it out when i find it!
Here is a picture of when the last frankfurter was deployed (very rare photo)
