Title: Boot lid replacement
Post by: aliK on 28 March 2007, 16:58
After a close encounter with a tree it seems I have to replace the boot lid on my 1994 mk3 cabriolet. I've found a 2nd hand one off a 2001 (mk3 1/2) model but will it fit mine? A body shop told me it wont.
cheers

2001 is a mk4 mate, its a different shape entirely so i'd reckon they are right.

its not totally different as the 3.5 cabby is still based on the same chassis, but to fit it I think you also need the rear bumper, and to fit the rear bumper someone was saying the arches need changing too!

So keep looking unless you want to do a complete 3.5 facelift on it ;)
