Title: 1.8T and high mileage

How good are these after 100k..... are the turbos on there last legs?? are they reliable and NA engines of old GTI's... will they go forever...

obviously the point of the above is a car with FSH and has been well maintained....

Hi Mate i just bought a 2001 gti turbo with 108000 on the clock full service history the car runs like new  :laugh: but like you im not sure how long the turbo will go on for even when looked after [ if anyone can give any advice ] also would like info on chipping cheers k5 dave

the right oil and service history means everthing..... ive seen old vw/audi engines that have done at least 3 times as many miles as new vw engines and have had far less engine wear....

at he end of the day. its all about oil.. doesnt matter in some affect how many services its done, if the oils sh!t on each change then it will effect engine wear....
