just fitted this alarm to my car and now when i start the car the alarm goes off. The immob works perfectly. I have been reading that it may be something to do with the voltage drop in the fans? Anyone know anything about this?
-
I wouldn't of thought that would be setting it off. not unless your main rad fan is coming on after you've armed the alarm. My alarm waits 30 seconds for the voltage to stablise before completely arming. You might have a bad earth somewhere that's leaking very slowly causing fluctuations in voltage and setting the alarm off.

No its ok when i arm it. It all works and goes off when and as it should. Its when i disarm its still ok untill i turn the key and then it goes off. :'(

It sounds like it isnt being disarmed and it goes off when you try and start the car. So it thinks that the car is still alarmed even when it isnt.
Some alarms like the laserline one in mine give you a certain amount of time to disarm it and get in the car before you start it otherwise it goes off.
I would sit in the car and arm it, don't move around because you'll set the ultrasonics off, disarm it and try starting the car straight away.
Am I right in saying that its a VW alarm?
-
Yeah its for a vw but it fell off the back of a lorry. If it wasnt disarmed properly then my immob would stop me starting my car. I can drive down the road with it going off. But the sound that comes out of the siren is different than if it goes off normally. :-\

the alarm siren is on its own level. The immobilizer sounds like its working then.
gotta remember that when you start the car, the siren will have more power, causing it to sound diffrent.
How did you connect the alarm siren part up mate?
-
3 wires coming off the central cradle. I had to solder a 1000 ohm resister in parrallel between 2 of the wires. Just wondering now if the resister may have blown or something hmm. Ill have a look when im back from the refinery.
