Title: Flashing OIL light
Post by: heinz on 23 March 2007, 15:36
The oil light on my 2E engine keeps flashing  only does it when it revs over 2000 wont stop flashing until I turn the engine off
There are no fault codes, was running vagcom when oil light was flashing
Oil pressure is very good  using a vdo pressure gauge showing 4 bar
idle is a little high and a little rough.
any help would be great please

Either the sensor is boogared, or the pickup in the sump is getting clogged up, which would involve, dropping the sump off and giving it a clean out, oh and cleaning up the sump to get all of the sh!t out of it.

Will have a play with the sensors   haynes book of lies says the oil sender on top of thee filter housing only comes into operation over 2000 rmp  so will try that one first.

there is a sender on the side of the cylnder head and one on top of the oil filter housing.
