-
your forgetting i live on the Isle of Man!!
-
Ive got a low miler mk 2 golf v8 and i intend to put some miles on it. At present I am doing 500 miles on weekdays and about 100 at evenings. Service intervals pop up very quickly :o
-

-
your forgetting i live on the Isle of Man!!
;D
-
Do they have speed limits on the isle of man?
-
Yes and No
If there are any speed signs e.g 30 or 50 you have to obey.
Unlike here where we see the National Speed Limit signs (white background with the black stripe) on the Isle of Man there is no limit.
I worked there for 7 months last year and I hired a S60 2.4 20v Volvo and got 120mph on a normal single carriage way. ;D

My mk1 has 106,000 on the clock but I haven't driven it in 6 months due to my turbo conversion. mk2 has 150,000 but I haven't driven it once, only bought it last sunday.mk3 golf has 130,000 and I haven't driven that for about 6 months eather.mk4 has 2000 and I drove that just before Christmas(its the wife?s car) and my 405 MI16 has 58,000 on the clock, I do about 350 miles a week in this one.

You have a Mk1, Mk2, Mk3 and Mk4 (we'll forget about the pug)!!!
Lucky swine.
I have a Mk2 16v (still off the road :( ) which has 160k on it, but I've not put any on it. My Mk3 16v has 116k, and I do about 7-10miles weekdays, drive cross town to work (far too slow to be fuel efficient) and about 20-30miles at weekends.
-
I must point out that the mk3 in only a CL and not a GTI. I hope to get some pictures of them all on here soon, if you look at my gallery you will see my mk4, MI16 and turbo for my mk1

Got a Jan '99 Mk4 20V 1.8 GTI (non turbo). Only got it in December. Its got about 46500 on the clock, of which about 2000 has been me.
Generally do about 35 miles a day plus about an extra 50 at the weekend. Sometimes do big 500 mile trips every month or so.

far too many.......197000 and rising :D ;D ;D
expecting underbonet bang at anytime..... :-\ :'(
whats amasing it still goes well beats most cars! raced bmw the other day he was strangling his and he wasnt coming passed ;D
cant beat the banger! ;D
modern bus vs 197000 mile banger! the latter wins ;D
its funny when they try it on and lose! i bet they give the dealer a mouth full
they go back to dealer.. i thought theses were fast,
dealer says they are,
they say an old golf gti beat me...
dealer ya wot, he must of tuned it up etc etc!
basicly he covers up how slow the new cars!
0 - 60 in 8.9.............my old banger does it faster........
a ;D ;D ;D
einstein says the faster you go the slower you age!
