Title: my new dub
Post by: monkeyalan on 22 March 2007, 15:15
it's not a golf but i'll still be hanging around here.

picked this up for a bargain price on ebay.

60k with FSH and 1 years  T & T

it's a bit rough round the edges , has a few bits of damaged trim , but still pretty good i think.

On first impressions it seems fairly nippy and is certainly a bit more chuckable than my mk3 golf gti. needs lowering tho' as at the mo' it looks like it's terrified of the ground.

it's a rare colour  for valvers from what i've been told ?

Is that the 1.4 16v then ?

I had a 1.4 L N-reg Polo, great fun and even the standard 1.4 is plenty nippy.

looks tidy....scared of the ground

if its one of those 1.6 16v's then they are pretty sharp, i remember getting embarrased by one when i was in my driver a few years back!

yeah, 100bhp of 1.4 16v fun!

it doesn't seem to use much petrol, is cheaper to insure and tax and still only has 3 doors so i don't have to take the mother in law out with us.

theres some nasty surface rust on one arch but i'll get that sorted asap. other than that it's sound.

been fixing bits today.

glued the passengerside glovebox door hinge back together, replaced the driverside glovebox door, half fixed the central locking (fuse not £120 pump!)and sorted a few badly repaired stone chips out.

still need a new bit in an air vent. bought the wrong one from a scrappy. why they changed airvent style after 1 year of production i don't know.

if anyones got any electrical knowledge i'd appreciate the advice.

yeah, mk5 rear lights and some lowerage are high up on the list.

keeping the exhaust hidden tho' , it's one of the things i like about the polo.

1st things 1st tho' , gotta get the bleeding central locking working right.
