Hi Guys,
Just got my D90's back from refurb and had 195/45/16's on front and back. Am I pushing the limits of safety with those stretched onto the rear 8" rims. It gives a nice stretched look but have some 215's kicking about if the concensus of opinion is that's too much? Cheers

I'll make you feel better then, I've got some TH Mono's to go on my Rallye and they are 8x16s with 195/40/16s on.
I hope I don't speak too soon, but have you actually heard of anyone's tyres popping off the rim. Even on other forums it seems to be a bit of a myth. It's probably happened to someone, somewhere but who knows.

Cheers Gibby, it's just reassuring to know someone else has done the same and had no probs. You're right, afaik tyres coming off is an urban myth (go on someone tell me a tale though) but after persuading the tyre shop to put the 195's on the bang they made when they located on the rims was making me think the buggers aren't coming back off easy. Thanks...

IMO i dont think it will be a problem.... one of my mates runs 165/55's on a 7x15 wheel, and hasnt had any problems! *touch wood*
and thinkin about it, you both could be right, ive never actually known of a tyre popping off a rim due to stretching.
