Title: DSG early doors
Post by: micalee on 16 March 2007, 19:05
When the car is cold, my DSG is a bit clonky when changing up manually. Smooth in auto though! Once car is warmed up, its fine - is this normal?

Glad you brought this up - mine seems to make a small "clank" noise when it goes into second. Only when cold though I think?

You really should let the car warm up before playing with your paddles, as the ECU actually modifies the auto change points for the optimum warm up.

Saying that, mine is also slightly more clonky when cold!  :undecided:

Log on to the UK TT forum, where they have a lot more experience of the 3.2 and the DSG together - http://www.tt-forum.co.uk/ - see if they have had any probs.

Rgds

Although mines a manual, I can't get a smooth change between first and second, no matter what the temperature.
