Slight mess up in that I ordered multi function steering wheel, but dealer entered it as multi function computer. Not that bothered as I really wanted the computer anyway, and the dealer gave me a full tank of fuel to apologise.
It looks SOOOOOO good. People looking all the way home. White is the BEST.

Build week was Feb 12th, which I think was week 7.
Pickup was put back from beginning of this week until the end, apparently they are "getting a lot of cars" which means that the trasport is taking longer.
Shouldn't be long for you to wait now!

Huh, did I miss something? You ordered a £350 m/f steering wheel, and the stealer fcuked up and ordered a £50 computer! But you only got £40 worth of fuel! Or did they refund the £350 too? :undecided:

Oh, agreed - mutts nuts and all that!

Oh for sure they refunded the £350 on the steering wheel tool. I was susprised how not bothered I was. If it had been the reversing beeper or the xenons or any of the other options I would have been angry.
The sales manager (who messed up the order) was asking me before I left how I would answer the VW dealer questionaire. I said I'd probably give the salesman full marks, but the dealership would lose points because of this. He seemed a little upset (having just finished his grovelling apology for getting the order wrong), but I can hardly give them full marks when they messed up the order.
Been out driving today...just got back from some late night quiet road testing.

What an awesome machine...

Oh, OK, thanks for clearing that up. The Xenons, I fully agree, they can only be factory fit, but the parking sensors (and cruise control) can be retro fitted at the stealer.

I would mark them all down, afterall, it's not exactly difficult, like you need a 1st in physics or sommat, just to bl00dy write an order correctly.
No, they displayed an unacceptable level of muppetry, and when you are paying £25k ish for a brand new, personally specced motor, they should do their job right. VW UK should be told of this fcuk up too, otherwise the dealers will think they can continue to get away with their incompetence. The £40 of fuel, (which would have been the standard 95 unleaded, and NOT the 98 super plus unleaded), will pale into insignificance, compared to their VW UK bonus for 5-star answers! Arrghghghgh

N-joy, but please make sure you run it in properly!

Looks V nice in white. I'd personally be giving VW a hard time as I think that their sales teams rely too much on our good will and knowing that the product sells itself! I had a manual Gti but now have a R32 with DSG and I personally think that the paddle shifts on the multi function steering wheel are an esssential part of the driving experience, I use them a hell of a lot and would not be without them! VW dealers again are very arrogant, I got my wife a new Honda Civic diesel a few months ago and surprise, surprise it came with a full tank of gas - free just as all VW's should! To be honest with my experience of VW dealers recently eg buying a Gti and R32 within 14 months of each other from the same dealer I will possibly think about changing manufacturers next time for a better customer service.

Agree with your sentiments Rog. I dropped my car off for its 20k longlife service this morning and to have a parrot kit installed. I asked the guy to install it in the same location as the one on a black 5 door ED30 they had in the car park. He wrote down "same as in Addition 30 golf" - brilliant! Slightly nervous about my overall bill as already £200 + for the service plus £100k for aircon conditioning and £70 for brake fluid change!!!

Another gripe ( when we're at it ) with my dealer 'Sidlow Gatwick was when I had my mk5 Gti the sunroof started rattling - probably not helped by our local traffic calming measures which are bl00dy awful rumble strips which can be taken at 15mph or 50 mph but nothing in between in a 30 limit. They had it back twice to sort - which they didn't but as the car was in for 3 days at a time they kindly gave me a courtesy car which was fine but you had to drive it under your own insurance or they would supply you with insurance for 15 quid! Just about every other dealer gives you a courtesy car all inclusive apart from fuel of course. When the R32 is due it's first service I'll be travelling further afield and try another franchise. If their cr&p too I reckon that's me finished with VW.

Christ I'd complain at that too!
Rog - I'm also based near Sidlow Gatwick and found them to be awful even when i tried to buy a car. Bunch of c0cks.
I suggets you get yourself to Sidlow Horsham as they have been brilliant. In a different league and well worth the extra few miles.

I have noticed in the last few years that dealers do charge you for insurance when driving their courtesy cars. Not just VW, but Jeep and Porsche have all charged me in the last couple of years for courtesy cars when I've taken my car in for a service. I think they have had their fingers burnt in the past, but it still peevs me that I have to pay, so I only opt for one when I have no choice. You would think for what they charge you for the service that they could get by without having to charge you even more of your hard earned cash.

peugeot dealers are the same as being prevoius lover of pug's :embarassed:

Wantmygti, thanks 4 that I'll try the Horsham lot when it's due a service.

No problem! I could hardly believe they both trade under the same name.

Oh I agree - but I got the paddles. Just not the radio/computer controls. So it wasn't the end of the world. Like I said, any other option would have been.
