my lecy windows have a mind of their own at the moment !!
they seem ok while the ignition is on but the prob appears when i turn ignition off !
sometimes the rear window will go straight down or sometimes it judders down !!
the pass front window will has started to do the same or it will just go up to the top then straight back down and just carry on til it decides to stop !
this problem at the moment is happening on all four windows but intermitently
i know its a bit long winded but they just have a mind of their own

No that you mention it I have a similar (although not as bad!) prblem with mine. My drivers window opens fine, but then if I push the button to close it it goes about 1/2 way and then goes back down again - usually it work properly 2nd time (although never first) but I have had to try upto 5 or 6 times to get it to close! I put it down to the after market full closure alarm messing with things - but that was just a guess really.

get some spray silicone lubricant from halfords, and give the window channels a damn good spray :)
-
the windows go up and down fine so dont think they are sticking !
they just go down on their own at times and set the alarm off, quite annoying especially when its raining resuting in soaking wet seats !! lovely !!
any ideas anyone ???
when they go down they carry on trying to go down even when they are at their lowest position, resulting in a flat battery !!
help !!

sounds like the mechs themselves are at fault, or dodgy wiring in the rubber boots to the doors. Strip the doors down and see what you can find!

collapsed contacts in the window switches will do this. With the windows up, unplug all of the switches and see if it still happens, if it does I would suspect the door wiring where it goes to the car or the immo (but it only operates the drivers window...).
If the window goes up and straight back down it thinks its hit an obstacle, its the safety retraction system. The guides must be tight as my learned friend says which causes the window to back off again.

thanks the contacts lok ok !
the windows go down in increments of abou 1 inch at a time til they are down !
they dont go up on their own i have to use the switch ! but then they sometimes go up or i hav to arm the alarm for them to close !!
help !!!

do what i said, when they are up pull the neg lead off the battery and disconnect the switches on the doors affected.
If it still happens must be the immob or the wiring but both doors cant be wiring or that would be unlikely as the wires are seperate whereas the immob is common to the whole car.
Maybe resetting the ecu this way will clear it anyway?

and by contacts i mean inside the switches not the ones that stick out to plug in to the harness. The switches could be broken inside and intermittently triggering the windows.
Try changing or disconnecting the switches its worth a try
